TribalVision CEO Named SBA’s Rhode Island Small Business Person of the Year

Posted

The U.S. Small Business Administration recently recognized TribalVision Founder and CEO Chris Ciunci as the Rhode Island Small Business Person of the Year. These prestigious awards are held annually, with one winner chosen from each U.S. state or territory. Awards are given on the basis of criteria such as staying power, growth in number of employees, increase in sales and/or unit volume, current and past financial performance, innovativeness of product or service offered, response to adversity, and contributions to community-oriented projects.

TribalVision is a marketing consulting firm known for its ability to grow businesses through both strategy and implementation. Only four years after its founding, TribalVision currently serves 35+ clients and employs 30 employees spread over 4 offices and 2 countries. This rapid growth – as well as TribalVision’s innovative marketing model, thought leadership, and community involvement – helped earn Chris this impressive award.

The 2015 awards were particularly competitive. As U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet said, “Competition was extremely keen across the nation for these prestigious awards. I couldn’t be any prouder than recognizing these outstanding entrepreneurs and small business owners, they represent the backbone of our economy.”

Ciunci was honored to be recognized stating, “I am thrilled to receive this award on behalf of the entire TribalVision team, who have worked so hard to create and sustain something so unique and impactful in the marketplace.” Chris also attributed winning the award to the results TribalVision is driving for its clients: “It is a testament to the great work that we are doing for our amazing clients. We have achieved success because what we have put together is working and driving growth for our clients across New England, and that is what is most gratifying.

Chris is now in the running for the National Small Business Person of the Year, which will be announced during National Small Business Week. He will also be honored in a ceremony on May 8th in Washington D.C. alongside the other state winners.

TribalVision VP Suzy Im Selected to Author ‘Market Smarter’ Column Series in Korean eTimes

Posted

TribalVision Vice President Suzy Im has been selected to author a guest column series about marketing in the Korean business newspaper ETNews, better known as the eTimes. The paper periodically invites industry thought leaders to write articles or reoccurring columns, and Suzy has been asked to serve as a contributing writer for 6 months. Her column, titled “Suzy Im’s Modern Marketing One Point Coaching,” will run every Wednesday on the trends and strategies page.

“I am honored to be able to use a publication as prominent as the eTimes as a platform to discuss marketing with the Korean business community,” said Professor Im. Using real examples from her illustrious 16-year career, Suzy plans to discuss how modern marketing has transformed based on the technology revolution. She will also offer concrete tips on marketing strategy and tactics to grow modern businesses in the global realm.

Suzy’s first article appeared in both print and online editions of the newspaper in January. Using the example of a midsize company whose growth had stagnated before its engagement with TribalVision, she focused on the change in the buyer’s journey and resulting shift in modern marketing. As Suzy stated, “In the Modern Marketing Revolution, it has become ever more difficult to communicate with consumers through traditional marketing methods.”

Another key takeaway from the article highlights the opportunities provided by Big Data. Using data, marketers today can understand the patterns of buyers’ behavior and better align their marketing with the consumer decision journey. These methods shorten the sales cycle, improve the buyer’s journey, and ultimately spur business growth. Suzy concluded her article by encouraging readers to use data to open up new ways to approach and convert consumers.

Upcoming articles will cover other topics in modern marketing strategy and implementation including; influencer marketing, inbound marketing, lead generation, and modern technology. Suzy will continue to rely on her extensive marketing experience – from TribalVision to Asian powerhouses such as LG, Samsung, and MK Media – for future columns.

Commenting on his experience, Chris said, “The CIBER Case Competition is truly a pleasure to participate in. PROVIDENCE, RI – August 2014

TribalVision has been selected for the 2nd consecutive year as one of Providence Business News’ Fastest-Growing Companies in the $250,000 – $5 million revenue category. Five finalists were chosen in each category based on two-year revenue growth, and TribalVision is honored to have made the prestigious list again after its first place finish last year.

TribalVision’s consecutive inclusion demonstrates the staying power of its business model. The firm serves as an outsourced marketing department for hire that provides a cost-effective solution for business owners in need of marketing expertise. As more and more business owners look for an alternative option to paying the high fees of an ad agency or the salary of a full-time hire, TribalVision has provided these organizations with the comprehensive marketing strategy and tactical implementation needed.

TribalVision is thrilled about its increasing importance in the Rhode Island business community and attributes much of its success to its vision and dedicated staff. “I can’t iterate enough how excited we are to have made the list two years running,” said TribalVision founder Chris Ciunci. “It is certainly a testament to our unique business model, to the demand in the marketplace for our services, and to the amazing team we have assembled to make this possible.”

The final rankings in each category will be revealed at an awards banquet at Rosecliff Manor on September 10th with over 400 professionals from the Rhode Island business community in attendance.

TribalVision Vice President Suzy Im Featured in Fortune Korea Magazine

Posted

TribalVision Vice President Suzy Im was featured in the August 2014 issue of popular business magazine FORTUNE Korea. Selected for the featured interview based on her extensive experience in global marketing, communications, and strategy, Suzy discussed the increasing importance of inbound marketing with FORTUNE Korea.

The feature allowed Professor Im to discuss contemporary changes in the buying journey and offer advice to companies trying to adjust to the modern marketing climate. She discussed the importance of new strategies such as more sophisticated analysis of buying patterns and increased focus on content marketing. Professor Im also emphasized the importance of a long-term, integrated strategic marketing plan for companies, as compared to expensive advertising initiatives: “Companies don’t need big expenditures; they need big strategy. The fact that inbound marketing has become more effective signifies that the age of consumers needing to run around is now over.”

One of the greatest takeaways of the article was the importance of inbound marketing across company sizes. Size and big advertising budgets matter less in the contemporary marketing climate, and Suzy extolled the opportunities provided by content marketing for smaller businesses using inbound marketing. Suzy’s expertise in global markets also enabled her to offer advice to companies hoping to penetrate new markets. When asked about the Fortune Korea 4-page feature article, Suzy stated, “I was honored that a publication of the size and stature of Fortune Korea provided me with the platform and voice to let Korean and Asian organizations better understand the marketing revolution that companies of all sizes and geographies are experiencing. Organizations will either embrace this change or risk eventual extinction.”

Since joining TribalVision in 2013, Professor Im has served as a crucial figure in TribalVision’s entry into Asian markets. Suzy has also worked with Asian powerhouses such as LG, Samsung, and MK Media and has years of experience helping companies penetrate global markets in the most strategic and cost effective ways. TribalVision is delighted that readers of FORTUNE Korea will be able to benefit from Suzy’s expertise.

TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci Invited to Participate at Constant Contact’s Social Media Marketing Summit

Posted

TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci spoke as a panelist at a Constant Contact New England event on June 27th to discuss the social media marketing best practices. Constant Contact, one of the nation’s largest email automation providers, organized the event, titled Make Social Marketing Work for You, to give local business owners the chance to learn the latest trends in the world of social media from marketing and business experts.

The event, held at the Providence Marriott, included seminars on Facebook promotion, quality content generation and online event promotion, as well as a Q&A with social media and business experts. On the Q&A panel, Chris and other marketing experts shared insights for over an hour with an audience of Constant Contact clients and interested small and mid-size business owners. “My team and I spend our days in the trenches developing and implementing marketing initiatives. Most business owners are so busy running the day to day operations of their business that they don’t have the time to deep dive into marketing, so I love to contribute at these events to provide some practical tips and to jump start their digital marketing in the right direction,” Chris said.
As Chris discussed, effective social media marketing can be much simpler than it seems. Traditional methods of outreach are proving less and less effective, and social media services like Facebook and LinkedIn are becoming staples of the business world. And unlike sending thousands of direct mail pieces or placing radio spots, these new avenues can be much more cost effective, while still garnering thousands of impressions and building a solid framework for lead generation. While at the event, Chris also discussed the importance of having a detailed marketing action plan in place along with having engaged staff carrying out the efforts to ensure that the upfront strategy does not fall to the ground due to sub-par execution.

TribalVision Vice President Selected to Lead Three-Week Seminar Series in South Korea: Marketing Optimization for a Global Marketplace

Posted

This June, TribalVision Vice President Suzy Im will be conducting a three-week marketing tour, where she will be working with hundreds of Korean business executives. Her series will consist of a multi-day intensive marketing seminar for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as several private marketing consulting and training sessions with global brands including LG. As the keynote speaker, Suzy will be working with Korean companies of all sizes to boost their growth into new markets.

While Suzy is in Korea, she will be spending time with global brand executives in private seminars focusing on B2B and B2C marketing optimization. She will also be leading large presentations to hundreds of small and medium-sized business owners on a variety of subjects, including big data, marketing penetration, in-bound marketing strategies, and online optimization.

“We are always excited to see members of the TribalVision team recognized for their expertise, and Suzy certainly stands out for her work in bringing brands to global success,” TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci said. “When we make strong relationships in emerging markets, we are also making great connections that our U.S. based clients can use to expand and succeed in this new business world, and that’s what we’re all about.” Suzy’s trip is part of TribalVision’s development into Asian markets, through which the firm plans to expand the sales opportunities of its growing list of New England clients.

MK Media, the largest media conglomerate in South Korea and one of the sponsoring organizations behind this tour, has also been working with the largest business publications in Korea to spread the word about Suzy’s seminars. Including publications in the eTimes and several online news outlets, MK Media has been stirring up publicity for Suzy’s arrival. TribalVision is also excited to announce the fully-functioning Korean version of its site, which will be up soon.

Suzy earned a name for herself in the ever-expanding world of Asian Marketing over the past decade through her work with Asian powerhouses such as LG, Samsung, and MK Media. “Due to her efforts, we were successfully able to launch our solutions in the US market, and also earned great media coverage in quite a short time,” a Samsung marketing manager stated. While these conglomerates brought her great success, Suzy joined TribalVision in 2013 to pursue her true interest: helping established businesses bridge the gap into the global economy. As Suzy put it, “In the digital world, there are so many opportunities for mid-sized businesses to break new ground in exciting, up-and-coming markets, and I’m honored to get to share these tools with so many businesses looking to expand their reach.”

TribalVision Founder Chris Ciunci Selected to Author Korean ETNews Series on Big Data Marketing

Posted

This week South Korea’s most popular information technology news source, ETNews, published the first of a series of articles written by the TribalVision team. Known as eTimes in South Korea, ETNews is the go-to resource for major Asian companies looking for the most up to date technology news.

The first article, Big Data Always Starts Small, lays the groundwork for companies to begin taking advantage of the new generation of analytical tools. These tools, previously available only to industry giants, are now accessible to companies of any size, and can transform how organizations optimize their sales force. For companies attempting to break through sales stagnation, manage costs more efficiently, or venture into new markets, data-centric analytical tools provide a cost-effective, approachable way to discover the strengths and weaknesses of your organization.

The shift to the world of big data can seem daunting, but TribalVision’s article series seeks to break down the knowledge barrier, and explain how businesses of any size can maximize the value of every marketing dollar spent, starting from square one. As the article puts it, “Every data set starts at 0 bytes.”

ETNews has long been a respected source for Asia’s premier business community, and the TribalVision team is very honored to be selected for this opportunity. “Companies all over the world are adapting to concept of big data, and it’s very exciting that ETNews recognized our team for our expertise in this new world of analytics,” said TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci. “The size of the company no longer limits the power of its business optimization; the key is to explore and embrace the options available, and put them to work for you.”

“The South Korean business environment is a really interesting case study of a modern economy that grew incredibly fast,” TribalVisions’s head of Asian Operations, Suzy Im, discussed. “In some ways, that makes them more comfortable in the world of digital marketing, which explains the huge success of a tech-based paper like ETNews. But I think it also really speaks to our growing expertise in online marketing that we were chosen to author an article aimed at such an informed demographic.”

Companies looking to improve their bottom line can leverage cost-effective digital marketing tools, enhancing their online presence for next to nothing. For mid-sized companies entering the new age, smart investments in new age marketing will revolutionize the performance of their business. Regardless of the industry, data analytics can identify and provide solutions for problems previously impossible to find.
