TribalVision Vice President Suzy Im Featured in Fortune Korea Magazine

Posted

TribalVision Vice President Suzy Im was featured in the August 2014 issue of popular business magazine FORTUNE Korea. Selected for the featured interview based on her extensive experience in global marketing, communications, and strategy, Suzy discussed the increasing importance of inbound marketing with FORTUNE Korea.

The feature allowed Professor Im to discuss contemporary changes in the buying journey and offer advice to companies trying to adjust to the modern marketing climate. She discussed the importance of new strategies such as more sophisticated analysis of buying patterns and increased focus on content marketing. Professor Im also emphasized the importance of a long-term, integrated strategic marketing plan for companies, as compared to expensive advertising initiatives: “Companies don’t need big expenditures; they need big strategy. The fact that inbound marketing has become more effective signifies that the age of consumers needing to run around is now over.”

One of the greatest takeaways of the article was the importance of inbound marketing across company sizes. Size and big advertising budgets matter less in the contemporary marketing climate, and Suzy extolled the opportunities provided by content marketing for smaller businesses using inbound marketing. Suzy’s expertise in global markets also enabled her to offer advice to companies hoping to penetrate new markets. When asked about the Fortune Korea 4-page feature article, Suzy stated, “I was honored that a publication of the size and stature of Fortune Korea provided me with the platform and voice to let Korean and Asian organizations better understand the marketing revolution that companies of all sizes and geographies are experiencing. Organizations will either embrace this change or risk eventual extinction.”

Since joining TribalVision in 2013, Professor Im has served as a crucial figure in TribalVision’s entry into Asian markets. Suzy has also worked with Asian powerhouses such as LG, Samsung, and MK Media and has years of experience helping companies penetrate global markets in the most strategic and cost effective ways. TribalVision is delighted that readers of FORTUNE Korea will be able to benefit from Suzy’s expertise.

TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci Invited to Participate at Constant Contact’s Social Media Marketing Summit

Posted

TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci spoke as a panelist at a Constant Contact New England event on June 27th to discuss the social media marketing best practices. Constant Contact, one of the nation’s largest email automation providers, organized the event, titled Make Social Marketing Work for You, to give local business owners the chance to learn the latest trends in the world of social media from marketing and business experts.

The event, held at the Providence Marriott, included seminars on Facebook promotion, quality content generation and online event promotion, as well as a Q&A with social media and business experts. On the Q&A panel, Chris and other marketing experts shared insights for over an hour with an audience of Constant Contact clients and interested small and mid-size business owners. “My team and I spend our days in the trenches developing and implementing marketing initiatives. Most business owners are so busy running the day to day operations of their business that they don’t have the time to deep dive into marketing, so I love to contribute at these events to provide some practical tips and to jump start their digital marketing in the right direction,” Chris said.
As Chris discussed, effective social media marketing can be much simpler than it seems. Traditional methods of outreach are proving less and less effective, and social media services like Facebook and LinkedIn are becoming staples of the business world. And unlike sending thousands of direct mail pieces or placing radio spots, these new avenues can be much more cost effective, while still garnering thousands of impressions and building a solid framework for lead generation. While at the event, Chris also discussed the importance of having a detailed marketing action plan in place along with having engaged staff carrying out the efforts to ensure that the upfront strategy does not fall to the ground due to sub-par execution.

TribalVision Vice President Selected to Lead Three-Week Seminar Series in South Korea: Marketing Optimization for a Global Marketplace

Posted

This June, TribalVision Vice President Suzy Im will be conducting a three-week marketing tour, where she will be working with hundreds of Korean business executives. Her series will consist of a multi-day intensive marketing seminar for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as several private marketing consulting and training sessions with global brands including LG. As the keynote speaker, Suzy will be working with Korean companies of all sizes to boost their growth into new markets.

While Suzy is in Korea, she will be spending time with global brand executives in private seminars focusing on B2B and B2C marketing optimization. She will also be leading large presentations to hundreds of small and medium-sized business owners on a variety of subjects, including big data, marketing penetration, in-bound marketing strategies, and online optimization.

“We are always excited to see members of the TribalVision team recognized for their expertise, and Suzy certainly stands out for her work in bringing brands to global success,” TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci said. “When we make strong relationships in emerging markets, we are also making great connections that our U.S. based clients can use to expand and succeed in this new business world, and that’s what we’re all about.” Suzy’s trip is part of TribalVision’s development into Asian markets, through which the firm plans to expand the sales opportunities of its growing list of New England clients.

MK Media, the largest media conglomerate in South Korea and one of the sponsoring organizations behind this tour, has also been working with the largest business publications in Korea to spread the word about Suzy’s seminars. Including publications in the eTimes and several online news outlets, MK Media has been stirring up publicity for Suzy’s arrival. TribalVision is also excited to announce the fully-functioning Korean version of its site, which will be up soon.

Suzy earned a name for herself in the ever-expanding world of Asian Marketing over the past decade through her work with Asian powerhouses such as LG, Samsung, and MK Media. “Due to her efforts, we were successfully able to launch our solutions in the US market, and also earned great media coverage in quite a short time,” a Samsung marketing manager stated. While these conglomerates brought her great success, Suzy joined TribalVision in 2013 to pursue her true interest: helping established businesses bridge the gap into the global economy. As Suzy put it, “In the digital world, there are so many opportunities for mid-sized businesses to break new ground in exciting, up-and-coming markets, and I’m honored to get to share these tools with so many businesses looking to expand their reach.”

TribalVision Founder Chris Ciunci Selected to Author Korean ETNews Series on Big Data Marketing

Posted

This week South Korea’s most popular information technology news source, ETNews, published the first of a series of articles written by the TribalVision team. Known as eTimes in South Korea, ETNews is the go-to resource for major Asian companies looking for the most up to date technology news.

The first article, Big Data Always Starts Small, lays the groundwork for companies to begin taking advantage of the new generation of analytical tools. These tools, previously available only to industry giants, are now accessible to companies of any size, and can transform how organizations optimize their sales force. For companies attempting to break through sales stagnation, manage costs more efficiently, or venture into new markets, data-centric analytical tools provide a cost-effective, approachable way to discover the strengths and weaknesses of your organization.

The shift to the world of big data can seem daunting, but TribalVision’s article series seeks to break down the knowledge barrier, and explain how businesses of any size can maximize the value of every marketing dollar spent, starting from square one. As the article puts it, “Every data set starts at 0 bytes.”

ETNews has long been a respected source for Asia’s premier business community, and the TribalVision team is very honored to be selected for this opportunity. “Companies all over the world are adapting to concept of big data, and it’s very exciting that ETNews recognized our team for our expertise in this new world of analytics,” said TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci. “The size of the company no longer limits the power of its business optimization; the key is to explore and embrace the options available, and put them to work for you.”

“The South Korean business environment is a really interesting case study of a modern economy that grew incredibly fast,” TribalVisions’s head of Asian Operations, Suzy Im, discussed. “In some ways, that makes them more comfortable in the world of digital marketing, which explains the huge success of a tech-based paper like ETNews. But I think it also really speaks to our growing expertise in online marketing that we were chosen to author an article aimed at such an informed demographic.”

Companies looking to improve their bottom line can leverage cost-effective digital marketing tools, enhancing their online presence for next to nothing. For mid-sized companies entering the new age, smart investments in new age marketing will revolutionize the performance of their business. Regardless of the industry, data analytics can identify and provide solutions for problems previously impossible to find.

TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci Tapped to Present Search Engine Optimization for New England Businesses at Harvard Club Business Summit

Posted

TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci has been invited to give a talk to a group of Boston based businesses on the importance of search engine optimization in today’s marketing landscape. The business summit, to be held at the Harvard Club on June 11th, will cover a variety of topics geared towards small and medium-sized organizations looking to improve their online presence, performance, and efficiency.

Many small and mid-sized companies face steep competition from industry conglomerates when it comes to online presence. For these companies, smart SEO improvements can transform a websites’ performance. While bigger companies have teams devoted exclusively to managing their online image, smaller brands can leverage efficient targeted advertising to draw in their specific demographic, and edge out their competition. For instance, recognizing the key terms your customer base search for will identify which areas to emphasize on your website, and improve your appearance on the major search engines. With today’s sophisticated market analytics, your existing customer data can be a cost-effective way to identify strengths and draw in targeted, interested leads.

“Search engine optimization is one of those aspects of marketing that can seem overwhelming given the ever-changing rules of the game, but it doesn’t have to be so intimidating,” Chris said. “A big part of my presentation will be about educating the audience on the latest changes Google has made to its search algorithms. From there, I will translate that into a practical game plan these businesses can incorporate into their online strategies today without breaking the bank.” Chris’s one hour presentation will cover several topics, including the evolution of SEO, cost-effective ways to increase in-bound web traffic, and 10 tips to immediately improve your website’s search engine presence.

Charlie Ross, CEO of Welsh Consulting and organizer of the event anticipates that many Welsh clients will gain a great deal from the SEO presentation. “We’ve had a great relationship with TribalVision for many years, and Chris always brings achievable, actionable plans to our clients that they can start working on immediately,” Ross stated. “We’re very excited for his presentation, and we know our clients will learn a great deal from him.” Welsh Consulting offers comprehensive information technology consulting for companies throughout New England.

TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci Presents “Digital Marketing for the Jewelry Industry” at FJATA’s Annual Convention

Posted

At this year’s Fashion Jewelry & Accessories Trade Association (FJATA) conference, held at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut, TribalVision CEO Chris Ciunci served as the marketing keynote speaker to 100+ jewelry distributors in attendance. The audience ranged from multi-generational family run jewelry manufacturers to industry giants such as Kate Spade, Tiffany’s and Swarovski.

In his one-hour presentation, Chris addressed the difficult business environment jewelry distributors face today. Globalization, industry consolidation, hyper-competition and diminishing salesforce results have created an environment where effective, innovative marketing is more important than ever before. As Ciunci discussed during his presentation, “Gone are the days of relying on a local sales force equipped with a rolodex of relationships built over the years. The online giants are using cutting edge digital marketing tactics that many jewelry manufacturers are either unaware of or reluctant to embrace. In order to compete and win, businesses must build a formidable online presence or face extinction at the hands of global competitors.”

Ciunci stressed that an effective digital marketing strategy can be accomplished through smart management of free online tools and cost effective online marketing channels. “Only a decade ago these options were either non-existent or only available to the largest of jewelers, but all that has changed,” he explained. The online playing field has been leveled, and those companies willing to embrace change and make smart investments in digital marketing will come out on top. Ciunci finished the presentation with a walkthrough of the myriad of tools and online marketing channels that jewelers can start implementing right away – ranging from drip email marketing campaigns to Google paid search accounts to tools that will optimize their website’s online presence.

Brent Cleaveland, FJATA’s Executive Director, welcomed Chris’ message and the practical nature of the marketing advice. Brent stated, “The majority of our association members needed to hear what Chris had to say. Chris certainly understands what our industry is facing and did an excellent job in providing a clear digital marketing roadmap our members can follow when they get to their desks tomorrow. Chris brought forth practical marketing tips that were not over the heads of my members and can be implemented right away.”

TribalVision Discusses “The Seven Deadly Sins of IT-Marketing Relationships” for UR Business Radio

Posted

Over the past several years, we have all witnessed a tectonic shift in our business practices – from traditional advertizing models to the digital age. But this shift isn’t easy for everyone. According to a recent Accenture Global Consumer Pulse survey, nearly 80% of companies admit they are not fully taking advantage of new digital tools by shifting their marketing practices or incorporating new technology.

Why? Adopting new technology strategies can be confusing, and involves working with new teams and technologies to redesign your website or ensure your data security. Despite the traditional IT-Marketing divide, getting along with your IT team – who often hold the keys to the digital kingdom – is vital to the success of your business.

To help our small business customers get it right, TribalVision recently sponsored a new program on the UR Business network on The Seven Deadly Sins of IT-Marketing Relationships. Marketing Manager, Meghan Lockwood, joins Tech Talk host Jeff Rice to discuss what can go wrong in Marketing- IT teams. These include:

  1. Not communicating business case
  2. Failing to collaborate on a project plan
  3. Ignorance of technical requirements
  4. Apathy for IT’s bandwidth constraints
  5. Unclear expectations for project stages
  6. Unarticulated final product vision
  7. No strategy for dealing with inevitable hiccups

To combat these sins, develop a collaborative relationship, communicate the value of the project and clearly outline expectations are key strategies to work better with IT, according to Rice and Lockwood.

In his inaugural show, TribalVision’s new manager joins Jeff to discuss what small and medium sized companies can do to embrace new marketing technology.

“I am beyond honored that Jeff asked me to be his first guest on his new radio show. Today, we are looking forward, constantly, at this intersection of marketing and technology.

We all know that the world is changing, that new tools – from automated systems to responsive design – make our jobs as marketers both more complicated, and more exciting, than ever before! It’s fun to get in a room with friends who live and breathe this universe and have a chance to talk shop.”

Previously a Senior Content Strategist at HubSpot, Meghan Lockwood is responsible for implementing end-to-end marketing plans for its clients. A self-professed “storyteller” and “data geek,” she shares her insight on what the blurring lines between marketing and technology means to digital outreach.

The days of converting prospects into buyer’s with seductive messages and cheap, popular products are over.  Today the organization that gets the right content, in front of the right consumer, at the exact moment that person is ready to make a purchase wins!

This makes organizations even more reliant on customer data, and far exceeds obtaining a name, home address and an email address. Success requires a wide variety of skills skill sets to meet consumers’ expectations for convenience. The future blue chip companies will master the art of leverage IT’s data science and marketing storytelling.
