TribalVision Founder Chris Ciunci Selected as Workshop Presenter at Boston Small Business Expo

PROVIDENCE, RI- October 17, 2013

TribalVision CEO and Founder, Chris Ciunci, conducted a 60 minute Market Smarter Workshop at The Small Business Expo in the Boston Hynes Convention Center on October 17, 2013. “It was an honor to be selected as the lead marketing presenter at such a large, well-known Expo with thousands of business owners in attendance,” said Ciunci.

The Small Business Expo is the largest nation-wide B2B tradeshow, conference, and networking event for small business owners. With thousands of attendees, the expo also received major press coverage. MSNBC’s small business program, Your Business, taped several segments at the expo and conducted on-camera interviews with business owners. The presence of MSNBC offered a chance for attendees to share their business acumen and gain exposure for their companies.

Ciunci’s presentation offered advice to CEOs on how to generate business in the new normal economic landscape. He began by dispelling popular myths about marketing: it’s not easy, not a tactic, not a catchy idea, and not pay to play. Consumers are fragmented across a variety of marketing channels, which means that businesses must interact with tiny segments of their audience multiple times a day. Ciunci explained that marketing depends on holistic approaches, not tactics. Successful strategies can no longer rely on paid media; owned and earned media are the key to reaching the target audience.

More than ever before, marketing decisions must be made through the eyes of the customer, Ciunci explained. Storytelling and humanizing the company or product is the new way to engage audiences. Ciunci said marketing should serve two functions: to spur interest in your brand and to identify and strengthen every customer touch point.

While SEO, paid search, email marketing, and other classical approaches are important for lead generation, Ciunci said that focusing on targeted outreach techniques and acquiring new business from existing customers are the most effective strategies to generate business.

Ciunci described detailed ways to use prospecting and retention tactics in more effective ways that “dig beneath the surface”. For instance, email marketing can go beyond standard tactics by launching sophisticated drip campaigns, creating detailed content calendars with multiple messages for specific audiences, developing custom landing pages, and using A/B testing to optimize conversion rates.

In closing, Ciunci advised audience members to remember that the sales force is the most expensive marketing channel that is critical to ensure lead conversion. To optimize the sales team, Ciunci said they must have clear goals and job descriptions.

“It was a pleasure to meet Chris and have him involved as a presenter for our business expo,” said Elizabeth Terriaca, the organizer of the Small Business Expo. “His Market Smarter Workshop was extremely valuable to our audience and I have heard nothing but positive reviews.”

TribalVision Selected as Guest Speaker for Ocean State Business Expo

PROVIDENCE, RI- October 2013

TribalVision has been invited as the guest speaker for the Ocean State Business Expo being held on October 2nd in Warwick, Rhode Island. “We are honored to be selected by the Rhode Island Business Expo Committee as the Expo’s marketing presenter,” said Ciunci. “We want to do everything we can to help educate the community on ways to market smarter.” Featuring over 100 exhibitors, the Ocean State Business Expo is Rhode Island’s premier event for connecting Rhode Island businesses and developing the state’s business community. Founder Chris Ciunci and Vice President Damien Cabral presented on the power of LinkedIn for business owners, giving practical advice on how to leverage the social media channel as a lead generation tool.

“We want to bring the business community up to speed on the countless ways LinkedIn can be utilized, while also offering an update on all of the latest improvements LinkedIn has made spanning the past several months,” said Cabral. “It’s important to always stay on the cutting edge of what’s going on given the social media landscape is changing so rapidly.

Ciunci and Cabral emphasized the importance of using LinkedIn for lead generation, as LinkedIn has a visitor-to-conversion rate that is nearly 3x the rate of Facebook and Twitter. Furthermore, 45% of LinkedIn’s members are considered key decision makers for their companies.

They explained that successful lead generation means taking an indirect approach to gaining credibility before making a pitch. Instead of trying to sell at the very beginning of the conversation, they suggested starting the discussion by providing helpful information. A positive impression is gained by reaching out to people with their interests in mind, as first impressions are also lasting ones.

Teaching LinkedIn analytics and encouraging business owners to set LinkedIn goals comprised the final section of the presentation before TribalVision’s summarizing a LinkedIn case study. The study involved a small postcard-based marketing company that generated more than 72% of its business from LinkedIn; this growth in business was solely generated by active LinkedIn usage and participation in the online community.

TribalVision Founder Chris Ciunci Selected as Guest Speaker at CEO Club of Boston

PROVIDENCE, RI – August 5, 2013

TribalVision Founder and CEO Chris Ciunci recently presented to a group of business leaders at the CEO Club of Boston, an organization that provides opportunities for CEOs to expand their networks and receive critical information to improve their organizations.

Ciunci’s hour long presentation focused on the most effective ways to generate business in the “new normal economy” that CEOs today are facing. “The tried and true marketing efforts of yesterday that focused around traditional media are no longer working, and I’m excited to bring a fresh perspective to the room that includes more cost effective and impactful channels that often are not discussed by ad agencies and other marketing firms, “ said Ciunci.

His presentation broke down the myths of marketing and offered practical cost-effective solutions that dig deeper than the traditional paid media channels that are widely used. Instead of viewing marketing in terms of tactics, Ciunci asked CEOs to see marketing through a holistic, strategy-based lens. Ciunci emphasized that push-based marketing using interruption-based techniques no longer works: successful marketers now must create stories that humanizes products and engages audiences in ways that transform prospects into passionate brand advocates.

The results of marketing efforts are not immediately noticeable, and Ciunci suggests that companies focus on becoming a thought leader in their niche. “You can’t succeed in the long run without differentiating yourself and positioning your organization as a credible resource that is a reservoir of relevant, useful information that customers value.”

Ciunci explains that the most cost effective way to generate business is to go beyond standard tactics that include email marketing, social media, and paid search, by becoming much more guerilla in one’s approach. Marketing initiatives such as segmenting one’s customer base to find effective cross-sell and upsell opportunities and focusing on retention techniques such as coordinating customer summits and advisory boards are often much more powerful in results when compared to less sophisticated paid channels that are easy to deploy but difficult to quantify and see results.
